Mobile app UX audit
A free review of your iOS or Android app — onboarding, navigation, tap targets, and whether it holds up against the platform conventions your users already expect. Delivered as a PDF report and walked through on a 30-minute call, no obligation.

Platform conventions: iOS vs Android
Whether navigation and gestures follow what people already know from every other app on their phone — swipe-back on iOS, the Android back gesture — or fight the platform, forcing people to relearn a motion they've made a thousand times.
First-run onboarding & permission prompts
Whether your intro screens earn the time they take, and whether a request for camera, location or notification access shows up when its purpose is obvious — not as a blanket ask fired at launch before someone has any reason to say yes.
Navigation patterns
Whether a tab bar, a drawer, or gesture-based navigation actually fits how deep and how wide your app is — a five-tab bar built for a two-feature app, or the one screen people open the app for buried inside a hidden drawer.
Safe areas & system gesture zones
Whether your layout respects the safe-area insets around the notch and home indicator, and whether a swipe you built — a card carousel, a swipe-to-delete row — sits far enough from the screen edge that the OS's own back-gesture zone doesn't swallow it first.
Offline, loading & error states
What the app does the moment a phone loses signal on a train or comes back from being backgrounded for an hour — whether cached content holds the screen, or a blank layout and a spinner that never resolves takes over instead.
The store listing
Whether your App Store or Play Store listing — screenshots, description, the opening seconds of a preview video — sets accurate expectations, since it's the first screen of your app's experience and the one every installer already judged before opening it.
App accessibility
Whether the app holds up with VoiceOver, TalkBack, or Dynamic Type switched on — the assistive tech people actually have running on their phone, not a desktop screen reader standing in for it.
What you actually get
You get a PDF report of your own to keep, that walks through your app screen by screen — the specific onboarding, navigation and platform-fit issues we found, with the fix we'd recommend for each one. It’s built to stand on its own: the report makes sense without us in the room.
How it works
Book a slot, send your build
Share whatever you've got — a build we can install, a link to your store listing, or a design file if you're not built yet — plus the flows that matter most, usually onboarding, checkout, or your most-used screen.
We review it
Our design team walks your app's actual screens against iOS and Android platform conventions and the goals you told us about. Ready within 1 business day.
You get the report
We walk you through the findings on the call, screen by screen, and you keep the PDF — free, with no obligation to hire us for anything else.
Auditing something other than a mobile app?
This page covers native iOS and Android apps specifically — onboarding, navigation, tap targets, and platform fit. If you're also running a companion website, our website UX audit covers navigation, forms and checkout in the browser instead. If visual consistency across your design system is the concern rather than platform behaviour, see our UI audit, and if WCAG conformance matters — including under the EU's Accessibility Act — see our accessibility audit. For the general rundown of what any of these audits cover, start with our UX audit services page, or browse example audit findings to see the kind of issues we flag in practice.
What it costs
The initial mobile app audit is free. If you'd like our team to help implement the fixes, that follow-on work is scoped and quoted separately, based on what you need.
Frequently asked questions
Do you audit iOS and Android separately, or is it one report?
One report covers both, if you send us both platforms — it calls out anywhere a pattern that works on iOS reads as broken on Android, or the other way round, rather than treating the two as interchangeable.
My app is built with React Native or Flutter and looks identical on both platforms — is that a problem on its own?
Not automatically, but it's exactly what we look for. A shared codebase that ignores how iOS and Android users expect back navigation, system menus or share sheets to behave costs usability even when the UI underneath is pixel-identical.
Will this tell me whether my app will pass App Store or Play Store review?
No — store review checks compliance with Apple's and Google's own guidelines, a separate process with its own rules. This audit looks at whether real people can actually use what you've built, which is a different question.
Do you need my app live in the App Store or Play Store to review it?
No. A TestFlight or Play Store internal-testing link works, as does an APK or AAB directly, or a Figma file if you're still pre-build — whatever stage you're at.
What if I need to log in or complete setup before reaching the screens I want reviewed?
Send us test credentials or a demo account along with your build. We'll go through onboarding and login exactly as a real user would, then spend most of our time on the flows you told us matter most.
Ready for a free, no-obligation look at your app?
Book a slot and send your build, store listing, or design file. We’ll review onboarding, navigation and platform fit before we meet, then walk you through the PDF report — completely free.
